The Messenger
A poem by S David
No not Odin
A God of
A different ilk
Far more sensible
And since
Not All-Seeing
Relied
On messengers
For news of
His domains
Spies too and
He could speak
All the languages
Of his flocks
His messengers
And spies came
On two four and
No feet at all
Mammals birds
Fish and the six
And eight legged
All brought him news
And all were thanked
And complimented
Even if their gleanings
Were sad or bad
Some even asked
What else to do and
And could
Could they help
Ease his burdens
In some way
On those he would
