Posthumous Portrait of Mozart by Barbara Krafft, Salzburg, 1819, under the supervision of Maria Anna Walburga Mozart.
Barbara Krafft (born Steiner) 1764-1825 in Iglau, Moravia. She studied under her father, painter Johann Steiner, who introduced her to portrait painting. She accompanied her father to Vienna, where Member of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, and married a chemist Joseph Krafft. In 1794 she moved to Salzburg, where she became a sucessful portraitist. |
