Fantastical Dragon
A poem by S David

And man yearns
To solve mysteries
To explore the unknown
To be the one who …
Oh yes
And yes
And in our minds
Human minds
A whisper
A rumor
A cause
To illustrate
What is known
What could be known
And
What if
Picture then imagine
No
Imagine then picture
Some
Idle sketching and
Da Vinci did
A rough drawing
An outline
Until Beck came
Along to
Fill in
Complete
That Da Vinci
Doodling

"Fantastical Dragon” by Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man", a man whose seemingly infinite curiosity was equalled only by his powers of invention. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. Royal Library, Turin, Italy.
