Ancient Traveler Observing Himself
A poem by S. David
Even now,
Looking as ancient
As I do,
I am not
Through.
My journey to
Completion
Is barely begun.
My past lives run
Through this one
And on
And yet
Each one is
And contains
Its own completion
and each rebirth
Contains
The seed of
A fated Meeting,
A fated communion,
a fated completion
and each release
Brings my shell
Back again into
The soil from
Which it sprang.

Through scrolls of past and future lives,
The traveler contemplates.
Released from ancient soil,
He journeys to completion.
